Chords and Cuisine for Ukraine Benefit Dinner

Our Chords and Cuisine for Ukraine event on March 4th was a big success, with over 130 guests enjoying Ukrainian food and beautiful piano performances. We were also joined by volunteers and aid recipients in Ukraine (Ivan Subbotin), Romania (Nicole Elliott), and Minnesota (Board member Anna Prisacari and two “Project Teach Ukrainian Youth” high school students, Dima and Iryna), all of whom shared heartfelt stories of resilience in the face of adversity.

Following the music, meals, and stories, Board member and emcee Tom Scearce gave  powerful closing remarks on bullying, reminding us that it happens on a larger scale in Ukraine. Many of us experienced bullying first hand in childhood, and now we see it occurring on a grander scale in Ukraine and elsewhere in the world. Tom invited those of us in America to honor our freedom by standing with Ukraine (and other nations and marginalized groups, including peace-loving Russians) as they resist domination by bullies.

Through our sponsors’ and donors’ philanthropic spirit, we have so far raised over $33,000 net from the Chords and Cuisines for Ukraine event, with donations and corporate matching funds still coming in! At the current funding level, we will send at least two shipping containers full of critical medical supplies (generously donated by Scott’s Dental Supply of Fife, WA) to Ukraine. We will ship a 3rd container with additional funding, or use any residual funds to support other iMiracleProject aid programs.

We share our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, and helped organize and promote these events. We are incredibly grateful for your generosity, which helped us send supplies and support volunteers on the ground.

In gratitude,
iMiracleProject
